 The advanced VistaCam iX HD Smart, a compact and streamlined intraoral camera from Dürr Dental, is now available through A-dec dealers in Australia. The camera offers significant advantages over other intraoral camera units.

The ultra compact profile of the device can be manoeuvred in the oral cavity more easily, which is especially important in younger and small patients and helps obtain better images.

This revolutionary high-resolution intraoral camera features an interchangeable head system, which is the secret behind VistaCam’s compact size and versatility. Additional diagnostic functions are available by simply attaching a different head as needed.

The VistaCam iX HD Smart integrates seamlessly into the A-dec chair delivery system, freeing up counter space and providing ultimate convenience. A-dec Product Manager, Wee Teo, said the camera is so compact and easy to use, it will become a standard tool for each patient consultation.

Interchangeable heads

The interchangeable ‘Proxi’ head is designed to detect hard to see interproximal caries without the use of X-rays to provide immediate diagnosis   planning. This quick diagnosis is a major productivity enhancer for the practice which will quickly repay the investment in the device.

Swapping to the ‘Proof’ head allows the visual display of plaque and carious occlusal lesions on an attached screen, such as a laptop, PC screen or chair-mounted monitor. This is invaluable in routine checkups and hygiene appointments, and helps show patients their current oral health condition, to encourage treatment now and appropriate ongoing oral care in the future.

Being part of the advanced Dürr Dental Vista System Imaging range means the intraoral camera images can be easily acquired and shared in the Dürr Dental VistaSoft software ecosystem. This includes using the power of the included software to instantly help detect caries and the ability to import and save images to the patient file for monitoring and as a secure medicolegal record.
